It’s already bad enough that the week is long. There’s work, getting the kids ready for school and possibly a quick breakfast. That quick breakfast may be a muffin or a piece of fruit. Then by the time the day is over, everyone is hungry and the first thing everyone asks when first walking through the door: “what’s for dinner?”
Fixing dinner can be so trivial at times, that one just opts to order takeout. There are cooking shows out there that show how to make complete meals in 30 minutes or sometimes less. Dinners that the whole family can enjoy and not succumb to McDonald’s on a weeknight. What is the next step? To just go and make that meal that will possibly be leftovers for the next night. There is no reason why dinner should be so trivial in making. There is no right or wrong ingredients in making the “perfect” meal in 30 minutes.
Here are a couple of recipes that are easy and are tasty at the same time:
One Pot Two Pot
1 lb. of ground turkey or ground beef
1 box of Kraft Sharp Cheddar Macaroni & Cheese dinner
1 can of sweet kernel corn
1 green pepper diced
Cook the Kraft dinner according to the instructions.
Brown the peppers and onions in a separate pan. Add the ground meat and brown completely. Drain fat. Set aside. Mix the cheese in and then the ground meat mixture. During this time the heat should be on low. Mix the ground beef in slowly. Then add the corn and heat through completely for an additional 3-5 minutes. Serve with a green tossed side salad.
Serves 5-6
